Beautiful Kingston City Hall

Kingston is known as the “Limestone City,” and Kingston City Hall might be the grandest expression of that. The stunning building was completed in 1844 when Kingston was Canada’s first capital. Interior features include grand staircases flanking the entrance with an overhanging mezzanine, council chambers, Memorial Hall, a stunning clock tower, and the original basement police station with jail cells. It serves still today as a local government building.
It is dear to my heart as it is where I took my oath of Canadian Citizenship 20 years ago!

This piece is mostly wood burned including all the intricate details of the architecture. I have also used acrylic paint to complete and finished with a layer of high gloss resin.

A very unique piece to reflect a unique building and piece of our history.
